Melanie Miller Biography
State Representative Melanie Miller is serving her first term in the Ohio House of Representatives. She represents the 67th House District, which includes all of Ashland County and the western portion of Medina County.
Melanie currently serves as the Executive Director of the Ashland Pregnancy Care Center, an organization that provides compassionate care and life-affirming options to women in the greater-Ashland County area who are facing unexpected pregnancies. Under Melanie’s leadership, APCC was honored as the “2018 Health & Medical Services Organization of the Year” by the Ashland Area Chamber of Commerce and voted by the community as the “2018, 2019, 2020, and 2021 Best Non-Profit” in Ashland County.
Prior to joining the APCC, Rep. Miller served as the Youth Ministries Director at The Salvation Army Kroc Corps Community Center in Ashland, OH. A former professional NBA dancer for the Cleveland Cavaliers, Rep. Miller was crowned Miss Ohio 2006 and Mrs. Ohio America 2011, where she represented the Buckeye State at the 2007 Miss America Pageant and the 2011 Mrs. America Pageant. Rep. Miller has also served as an on-air television personality, writer, and producer for WBNX the CW and guest host on the TCT Network.
Representative Miller has a Bachelor of Arts in Communication and Digital Media & Film from Cleveland State University. A recipient of the Ashland County Women of Achievement Award and a graduate of the Ashland Area Chamber of Commerce’s Leadership Ashland program, Rep. Miller is also a member of the Northern Medina County Chamber Alliance.
Rep. Miller and her husband, Matt, have been married for 15 years, and he currently serves as the Mayor of the City of Ashland.
