Johnson Applauds Honda Expansion in Fayette County
COLUMBUS—State Representative Mark Johnson (R- Chillicothe) has issued the following statement on the announcement of a new Honda battery plant coming to Fayette County:
“I could not be more excited for Fayette County. This new site will create at least 2,200 jobs for hardworking members of our community and put Fayette County on the map for thousands more.
“This multi-billion dollar investment demonstrates the belief that Ohio’s workers are committed to their jobs and dedicated to the prosperity of Ohio and its facilities. I am thrilled for the opportunities this will give our community, and I look forward to following the development closely.”
The representative’s statement comes after Governor DeWine and Honda announced a $3.5 billion investment in the creation of a new battery plant. The batteries produced at this plant will be transported to various Honda facilities across Ohio for the construction of various electric vehicles.
