Rep. John Announces Support for Local History Projects

COLUMBUS – State Representative Marilyn John (R-Richland County) recently announced that the Ohio History Fund grant application is now available.
Grants are used to support local history projects, including the rehabilitation of National Register-listed historic buildings, museum collection storage initiatives, educational programs, and more. The application can be found at ohiohistory.org/historyfund.
“Richland County has a strong connection to Ohio’s history through its historic buildings and infrastructure, and I hope our community will benefit from these preservation efforts,” said Rep. John.
Eligible applicants include historic preservation groups, local historical societies, museums, public libraries, genealogical societies, university archives and special collections, archaeological societies, county records management offices, “friends” groups and other non-profit and public entities.
The application deadline is September 8, 2026.
