State Representatives Kellie Deeter (R-Norwalk) and Meredith Lawson-Rowe (D-Reynoldsburg) today announced that the Ohio House of Representatives passed House Bill 104 – legislation that designates February 14th as Cardiovascular Health Awareness Day.
“Cardiovascular disease is a leading cause of death in Ohio and the nation,” said Rep. Deeter. “This designation aims to raise awareness, encourage preventive measures and promote healthier lifestyles.”
According to the CDC, heart disease is the leading cause of death for men and women in the United States, accounting for one in every five deaths.
House Bill 104 now goes to the Senate for further consideration.
