Rep. Deeter Highlights Tax Credits Available to Revitalize Historic Buildings in Ohio
State Representative Kellie Deeter (R-Norwalk) today announced that the application period for the Ohio Historic Preservation Credit Program is now open, according to the Ohio Department of Development. This program supports property owners and developers in transforming Ohio’s historic buildings, preserving the community’s history, and turning the buildings into community assets.
“It’s important that we continue to make strong investments like these so that we can preserve our state’s history, as well as support our local community needs,” said Deeter.
To be eligible to apply, interested parties must submit their Intent to Apply by August 15, at 4 p.m. The form is available online at development.ohio.gov/historic. Applicants are also required to request a pre-application meeting with the State Historic Preservation Office by 5 p.m. on July 31.
House Bill 96 – Ohio’s State Operating Budget – included an increase in funding for this program to $75 million a year, a significant investment to help local communities invest in the private redevelopment of historic buildings.
