Newman Sworn in to Serve Ohio's 80th House District
COLUMBUS – State Representative Johnathan Newman (R- Troy) took the oath of office Monday for his first term as a member of the Ohio House of Representatives. He represents the 80th House District, which includes all of Miami County and southern Darke County.
“It is a real honor to be in the People’s House,” said Newman. “I look forward to helping the people of the Miami and Darke counties and working with my fellow legislators to make Ohio a better place to live, work, and raise a family.”
Newman is the founder and lead pastor of the Koinos Church in Troy. He earned his bachelor’s degrees in religious studies and sociology from Union University and a master’s degree in divinity from Mid-America Baptist Theological Seminary.
He is the father to three adult children and resides in Troy with his wife Jeni.
Newman was sworn in during Monday’s session, which marked the beginning of the 136th General Assembly.
