Ghanbari Issues Statement on Afghanistan
“I’ve been monitoring the unfolding situation in Afghanistan very closely, and the tragic death and wounding of both American military personnel and Afghan civilians due to cowardly terrorist attacks in Afghanistan today is both heartbreaking and disturbing. As a member of the military who served in Afghanistan from December 2010 through July 2011, I grieve for my fellow service members whose lives were taken today, and pray for a full recovery of those who were wounded. My family extends our deepest thoughts and prayers to their family, friends and comrades.
“I am confident that our brave military personnel deployed in support of this mission will remain focused on the critical tasks at hand. To my fellow veterans, your service matters and, more importantly, you matter. Each of us, and our families, will process and grieve the developments in Afghanistan in our own ways and on our time. Please call and check on your battle-buddies and their families — https://ohiocares.ohio.gov and the Veterans Crisis Line 800.273.8255 are both resources."
