Reps. Jarrells Announces $1.1M in State Funding to Support Columbus State

COLUMBUS – State Rep. Dontavius L. Jarrells (D-Columbus) today announced that the Ohio Controlling Board approved approximately $1.1M in state funding for key projects that will benefit students at Columbus State.
“State investments only matter when they open real doors for real people. This funding strengthens Columbus State’s ability to train the workforce that drives our economy, and it ensures that one of our state’s most visible public institutions is maintained responsibly and locally. These are practical, high-impact investments that move Ohio forward,” said Rep. Jarrells.
Columbus State Community College received approval to purchase 0.22 acres of land next to the campus. The property includes over 8K square footage of an industrial warehouse building for the college to use for educational purposes. The total purchase price is approximately $1.1M, but the Institution of Higher Education will make the purchase, and no student fees will be used.
