COLUMBUS — State Rep. Dontavius L. Jarrells (D-Columbus) Tuesday hosted an All of Us Legislative Town Hall and Resource Fair at the Main Branch of the Columbus Metropolitan Library. Constituents and local advocates engaged in conversations discussing issues impacting the community and his legislative agenda for the remainder of the year. Constituents also had the opportunity to connect with local organizations providing education and essential resources.

“Civic engagement is the foundation of a healthy democracy, and one of the most effective ways constituents can make their voices heard is by engaging directly with their legislators. I enjoyed meeting with my constituents and speaking about issues most pertinent to them. When community members show up, speak out, and stay informed, everyone benefits, and our government becomes more responsive, inclusive, and effective,” said Rep. Jarrells.

Rep. Jarrells was joined by State Rep. Latyna Humphrey (D-Columbus), Columbus City Councilmember Melissa Green, and Columbus City School Board President Michael Cole to educate constituents on the state operating budget (House Bill 96), Ohio’s redistricting process, and city and state initiatives. The elected officials also answered questions concerning affordable housing, city needs and expressed the importance of understanding the legislative process and holding officials accountable by staying connected with them.

Rep. Jarrells continues to maintain a heavy presence in the community and looks forward to seeing constituents at the All of Us Block Party on Saturday, September 20th from 2:00-6:00PM at MPACC BoxPark (925 Mt Vernon Ave, Columbus, OH 43203).
