COLUMBUS — Assistant Minority Leader Dontavius L. Jarrells (D-Columbus) Tuesday announced the approval of two major public investments in Franklin County: one strengthening mental health infrastructure and the other supporting local minority-owned businesses:

  • Brand Equity Pro LLC (DBA American Sign Studio): $64,487
  • Flairsoft LTD: $532,500

Brand Equity Pro LLC is a woman-owned business established in 2008. It specializes in custom signage, LED conversions, and graphic design. The loan will allow the company to purchase new equipment and create a full-time position. With revenues rising significantly since 2021 and net income growing over 2,000% in 2023, the company is well-positioned for expansion and job creation.

"Small businesses are the backbone of our community," said Rep. Jarrells. "This funding will help Brand Equity Pro scale up operations and continue building wealth in our neighborhoods."

In addition to these business investments, the Ohio Controlling Board approved $15K in capital funds for design engineering on a chiller and cooling tower replacement project at the Timothy B. Moritz Forensic Unit, a high-security behavioral health facility on the Central Ohio Behavioral Healthcare campus.

"This is about protecting lives and ensuring our healthcare facilities have the tools they need to serve patients with dignity," said Rep. Jarrells. "I'm proud to advocate for funding that strengthens both public health and local business growth in Franklin County."

Together, these investments represent more than $600K in state support advancing economic opportunity and health infrastructure in House District 1.
