Rep. Jarrells Announces $4.2M in State Funding to Support Higher Education, Community Development Project

COLUMBUS — State Rep. Dontavius L. Jarrells (D-Columbus) today announced that the Ohio Controlling Board has approved more than $4.2M in state funding to invest in students pursuing higher education and community development projects in the district.
“This $4.2M investment delivers tangible support to students and strengthens community development across our district,” said Rep. Jarrells. “By expanding access to modern training equipment at Columbus State and supporting responsible development in Bexley, we are creating the conditions for economic growth, workforce readiness, and long-term stability for the people we serve.”
The items approved were:
- Items #10-12: $273K awarded to Columbus State to purchase medical lab equipment, manufacturing equipment, and mobile security cameras.
- Item #29: $4M awarded to the Department of Development to support the CAG Bexley Apts, LLC for construction of a public parking garage and commercial office space in Bexley
