COLUMBUS- House Bill 661, legislation that regulates imitation meat and egg products, has been introduced by State Representative Roy Klopfenstein (R- Haviland) and State Representative Jack Daniels (R- New Franklin). 

COLUMBUS— On Friday, June 12, State Rep. Melanie Miller (R-City of Ashland) joined the Ohio Association of Meat Processors, the Ohio Department of Agriculture, and other legislators on a tour of Heffelfinger’s Meats, Inc., the largest harvesting facility in Ohio.

Instead, in two days, more than half million children, more than 250,000 seniors, and an estimated 45,000 veterans are at risk of going hungry when the federal government defaults on its November deposit to fully fund SNAP benefit cards due to President Trump and Congressional Republicans' refusal to end the federal government shutdown.

COLUMBUS — State Rep. Darnell T. Brewer (D-Cleveland) today continues to urge his colleagues to take concrete measures to prevent gun violence in Ohio. Between August 31 and September 8, 2025, at least 12 Ohioans lost their lives due to gun violence. During that time, Ohio communities experienced over 30 separate gun-related incidents, including two mass shootings one in Cleveland and another near Cincinnati. Countless families have been shattered, and entire neighborhoods continue to cope with the trauma caused by senseless violence.

COLUMBUS — State Rep. Darnell Brewer (D-Cleveland) today called for immediate statewide action to combat the ongoing epidemic of gun violence, following a series of tragic shootings across Ohio.

COLUMBUS – State Rep. Darnell Brewer (D-Cleveland) today voted “NO” on the vote to override a school district property tax levy restriction provision vetoed in House Bill 96 (the state operating budget). Line-item 66 would eliminate several types of levies, limiting the choices voters have in how to support their schools and local governments, and would not provide real property tax relief to Ohioans. Real property tax relief is one of the most pressing needs for everyday Ohioans. House Democrats are ready and willing to work together to get that done.
