Rep. Brewer Mourns the Loss of 10-Year-Old Kaden Coleman

COLUMBUS – State Rep. Darnell T. Brewer (D-Cleveland) today released the following statement regarding the tragic gun death of Kaden Coleman:

“We in District 22 and the Cleveland community are heartbroken by the tragic and senseless loss of 10-year-old Kaden Coleman, who was shot and killed last Friday night while in a vehicle. No arrests have been made regarding this heartbreaking incident, and we urge the community to come forward with any information that may lead to justice for Kaden and his grieving family.

Kaden was a bright, joyful child whose life was cut far too short by an act of violence that should never happen in our neighborhoods. His family, friends, and the entire community are mourning this unthinkable tragedy and demand accountability for those responsible.  

We urge anyone who may have seen or heard anything related to this case to do the right thing and assist law enforcement in their investigation. If you have any information, no matter how small it may seem, please get in touch with Cleveland police or submit an anonymous tip through Crime Stoppers.

This is not just about one child; it is about the safety and future of all our children. Gun violence continues to take innocent lives, and we as a community must stand together to protect our youth and demand justice.

We must all work together to honor his life and support his family. Let us come together in solidarity, not only to grieve but also to take action against violence in our city.

We refuse to let Kaden’s life be forgotten. We demand justice, and we call on our community to help ensure that no other family has to endure such a tragic loss,” said Rep. Brewer.
