Rep. Brewer Calls for Action on Gun Violence as Nation Mourns Minneapolis School Shooting
COLUMBUS — State Rep. Darnell T. Brewer (D-Cleveland) today issued the following statement in response to the mass shooting at Annunciation Catholic School in Minneapolis, Minnesota:
“As an Ohio state representative, I continue to ask, when will enough be enough? We see the numbers. We hear parents' cries. We watch communities grieve. Yet, we also see too many elected officials remain silent and inactive,” said Rep. Brewer. “Today, as we mourn the loss of children and families in Minnesota after another tragic shooting, we must ask ourselves when will our voices become votes? When will we finally elect those who choose action over silence? Please join me in praying for the families affected and the entire mourning community.”
Rep. Brewer will continue to advocate for legislation that addresses gun violence in Ohio. In the spring, Rep. Brewer introduced the Community Safety and Solutions Agenda, which includes 11 gun violence prevention bills.
