Rep. Daniel P. Troy introduces resolution honoring victims of Agent Orange

– Rep. Daniel P. Troy (D-Willowick) today introduced a resolution honoring and recognizing the victims of Agent Orange during the Vietnam War. Between 1961 and 1971, the United States Armed Forces utilized Agent Orange to destroy enemy crops and vegetation as part of its herbicidal warfare program, Operation Ranch Hand. In just ten years, more than 20 million gallons of Agent Orange were sprayed, exposing some 2.6 million American soldiers to dangerous chemicals.

City of Painesville awarded grant funding from JobsOhio

State Rep. Daniel P. Troy (D-Willowick) announced today that the City of Painesville in his Ohio House district has been awarded a competitive grant, valued up to $2 million, through the JobsOhio Vibrant Community Grant Program. The funding will be used to renovate the 191,000 square foot Victoria Place complex in downtown Painesville for future mixed use corporate office and retail development, and will hopefully serve as a catalyst for increased community investment and job creation for that area.

Rep. Troy announces Ohioans with Unemployment Overpayments can now apply for waivers

Rep. Daniel P. Troy (D-Willowick) announced today that Ohioans with unemployment overpayments through no fault of their own can now request a waiver that would absolve them of repaying these funds back to the state. Ohioans who have already repaid these overpayments but qualify for the waivers will have their money returned.

Rep. Troy statement as refunds to be sent to overcharged utility ratepayers

State Rep. Daniel P. Troy (D- Willowick) issued a statement today as some Ohioans will see a one-time refund on their August utility bills as part of the partial repeal of House Bill 6. Rep. Troy has called for refunds to all improperly-charged utility customers under his bipartisan House Bill (HB) 260, legislation that would protect consumers and put more money back in the pockets of ratepayers instead of corporate shareholders.

Rep. Troy renews call for updates to Ohio's Homestead Exemption Law

State Rep. Daniel P. Troy (D- Willowick) issued a statement today urging further hearings on House Bill (HB) 207, his legislation to update Ohio’s Homestead Tax Exemption program. Rep. Troy says his bill would go further to help keep elderly Ohioans and those with disabilities in their homes than the more limited legislation announced today by Republican Reps. LaRe and Stephens.

Rep. Troy announces opening of applications for the Ohio Legislative Service Commission Fellowship

Rep. Daniel P. Troy (D-Willowick) announced today that the Ohio Legislative Service Commission is accepting applications for its 13-month Legislative and Media Production Fellowship Program. The Commission will hire 24 fellows to work with members of the Ohio General Assembly during 2022.

Rep. Troy gives sponsor testimony on legislation to require refunds to improperly charged utility customers

COLUMBUS— Rep. Daniel P. Troy (D-Willowick), working across the aisle in a joint effort with Rep. Laura Lanese (R- Grove City), provided sponsor testimony Wednesday before the House Public Utilities Committee on House Bill (HB) 260, which would require a refund of improperly charged electric utility charges collected from ratepayers.

Reps. Troy, Callender support House approved state budget proposal, heads to Senate

COLUMBUS – Today, State Reps. Daniel Troy (D-Willowick), Jamie Callender (R-Concord),  and the Ohio House approved House Bill 110, otherwise known as the two-year state operating budget for Fiscal Years 2022-2023. The legislation highlights include a new school funding reform plan, tax relief, jobs and economic support, and several other initiatives.
