City of Painesville awarded grant funding from JobsOhio
State Rep. Daniel P. Troy (D-Willowick) announced today that the City of Painesville in his Ohio House district has been awarded a competitive grant, valued up to $2 million, through the JobsOhio Vibrant Community Grant Program. The funding will be used to renovate the 191,000 square foot Victoria Place complex in downtown Painesville for future mixed use corporate office and retail development, and will hopefully serve as a catalyst for increased community investment and job creation for that area.
“I was supportive of the City of Painesville’s application to JobsOhio for this significant funding. I worked right across the street from Victoria Place for a long time as a County Commissioner, and stressed to the JobsOhio folks how this core piece of real estate, with the proper investment to achieve revitalization, could be a game-changer in bringing about much needed economic activity and small business development in the heart of our Lake County seat. I am so glad that JobsOhio has agreed with this belief through their approval of this grant,” said Rep. Troy.
Established in 2011, JobsOhio was created to promote economic development in underinvested regions, allowing individuals and communities to thrive. Through their Vibrant Community Grant Program, JobsOhio empowers communities to grow their local economies by attracting new investments.
