COLUMBUS – State Representative Cindy Abrams (R-Harrison) was recently selected as the 2026 recipient of the Representative C.J. McLin Award by the Ohio Justice Alliance for Community Corrections (OJACC).

Named in honor of the late State Representative C.J. McLin Jr., this annual award recognizes an Ohio elected official whose work has strengthened community corrections across the state. Throughout his time in the Ohio General Assembly, McLin was dedicated to advancing community corrections in Ohio.

Abrams was selected in recognition of her efforts to secure funding for law enforcement and community-based initiatives like the Law Enforcement Reimbursement Training Pilot Program, as well as her legislative work to strengthen Ohio’s criminal justice system, including her sponsorship of the Reagan Tokes and Patrick Heringer Act.

“The work OJACC does to support community corrections is critical to the safety of our communities and the rehabilitation of offenders, and I’m grateful to be recognized with this award,” said Abrams.

The OJACC advocates for best practices and policies to improve community corrections in Ohio.
