Abrams Elected as Assistant Majority Whip for the 134th General Assembly

COLUMBUS – Today, State Rep. Cindy Abrams (R-Harrison) was elected by members of the Ohio House Majority Caucus to serve as Assistant Majority Whip for the 134th General Assembly.

“I am humbled by the support of my colleagues,” said Abrams. “I look forward to serving my colleagues in this new leadership role, and continuing to work hard to be a strong voice for my constituents in the next General Assembly.”

Abrams previously served as a Police Officer for the City of Cincinnati and as City Councilwoman for the City of Harrison. She was sworn in to serve the 29th House District in October 2019.

Other leadership members for the 134th General Assembly elected today by the caucus include:

- House Speaker: Bob Cupp (R-Lima)
- Speaker Pro Tempore: Tim Ginter (R-Salem)
- Majority Floor Leader: Bill Seitz (R-Green Township)
- Assistant Majority Floor Leader: Rick Carfagna (R-Genoa Township)
- Majority Whip: Don Jones (R-Freeport)

“I am so honored to have been re-elected by my colleagues to continue leading the Ohio House,” said Cupp. “I will work every day with our unified caucus to advance conservative policies to benefit all Ohioans. We have great challenges but I know the talented members of our caucus will work together to solve them.”

Terms for the 134th General Assembly begin January 1. Opening day for the new General Assembly will be Monday, January 4.
