Rep. Glassburn Announces $232K for Renovations at Brook Park Ohio Army National Guard Armory
COLUMBUS — State Rep. Chris Glassburn (D-North Olmsted) today announced the Ohio Controlling Board awarded $232,367.36 in funding to cover additional renovation costs to the Brook Park Ohio Army National Guard Armory, located in Brook Park, Ohio (Cuyahoga County). The funding will be used to address various damaged and non-working HVAC units and the related installation of new refrigerant piping per updated design.
“I am pleased that the State of Ohio has made this money available to help in the renovation and upgrade of the Brook Park Armory. The building is quite old, and this project is one way Ohio can support its Citizen-Soldiers,” said Rep. Glassburn.
Once work began, it was discovered that portions of the existing HVAC system were inoperable. Sections of fluid piping and insulation will need to be removed and replaced throughout the building. Additionally, some extra electrical work is necessary to support the renovations. The funding will be used to address this emergent need.
The Brook Park Armory building was built in 1957, and the facility has been in operation for over 65 years. Action Contractors LLC was awarded the project through the bid express process as the lowest and most responsible bidder. This renovated facility will serve as a suitable training center for Army soldiers, enabling them to prepare effectively for ongoing readiness.
