Rep. Thomas Announces $1.9M Funding to Replace Obsolete Communications Systems in State Regional Psychiatric Hospitals

COLUMBUS - State Rep. Cecil Thomas (D-Cincinnati) today announced that the Ohio Controlling Board approved on Monday $1.9M in funding for the Department of Mental Health (DMH) to replace outdated communications systems in several state regional psychiatric hospitals, including the replacement of electrical panels at Summit Behavioral Healthcare. The funding will be used to install modern equipment that will ensure better coordination and responsiveness in critical care environments.

Rep. Thomas, The America 250-Ohio Commission Announces Three Cincinnati Sites on Ohio Creativity Trail

COLUMBUS — State Rep. Cecil Thomas (D-Cincinnati) today announced that three Cincinnati sites have been selected to be part of the Ohio Creativity Trail , a new experiential driving trail that spans 109 sites across the state. The trail highlights the work of Ohio's past and present writers, musicians, artists, and other creatives. This initiative is the second of six planned experiential trails as part of the America 250-Ohio’s signature Trails & Tales program.

Rep. Thomas Demands Attorney General Investigate Police Response to Armed Neo-Nazis

COLUMBUS — State Rep. Cecil Thomas (D- Cincinnati) today is calling on Attorney General Dave Yost to initiate a full investigation into the recent Neo-Nazi incident in Lincoln Heights. This comes after the Lockland Local School District released a public statement revealing that they observed men, identified as Neo-Nazis, outside a U-Haul truck. These individuals were organizing weapons and conversing with an Evendale police officer near the Lockland Educational Annex, just moments before elementary school students were dismissed.

COLUMBUS - State Reps. Cecil Thomas (D- Cincinnati) and Munira Abdullahi (D-Columbus) Wednesday announced they have introduced a House Concurrent Resolution condemning President Donald Trump’s issuance of pardons and commutations for approximately 1.5K individuals convicted in connection with the January 6th insurrection on the U.S. Capitol, including those who committed violent acts against law enforcement officers.
