Rep. Thomas Announces $1.9M Funding to Replace Obsolete Communications Systems in State Regional Psychiatric Hospitals
COLUMBUS - State Rep. Cecil Thomas (D-Cincinnati) today announced that the Ohio Controlling Board approved on Monday $1.9M in funding for the Department of Mental Health (DMH) to replace outdated communications systems in several state regional psychiatric hospitals, including the replacement of electrical panels at Summit Behavioral Healthcare. The funding will be used to install modern equipment that will ensure better coordination and responsiveness in critical care environments.
"This funding will help ensure that our state psychiatric hospitals are equipped with the technology needed to provide the best care for Ohioans,” said Rep. Thomas. “Updating these systems is a critical step in improving communication and efficiency within our healthcare facilities, and it reflects our ongoing commitment to the safety and well-being of patients and staff.”
The hospitals benefiting from this upgrade are located throughout Ohio, serving patients in various regions. With this investment, the state continues its commitment to improving healthcare infrastructure and ensuring that Ohio’s psychiatric facilities meet the highest standards of safety and service.
