Rep. Thomas Demands Attorney General Investigate Police Response to Armed Neo-Nazis
COLUMBUS — State Rep. Cecil Thomas (D- Cincinnati) today is calling on Attorney General Dave Yost to initiate a full investigation into the recent Neo-Nazi incident in Lincoln Heights. This comes after the Lockland Local School District released a public statement revealing that they observed men, identified as Neo-Nazis, outside a U-Haul truck. These individuals were organizing weapons and conversing with an Evendale police officer near the Lockland Educational Annex, just moments before elementary school students were dismissed.
“This is beyond disturbing and absolutely unacceptable,” said Rep. Thomas. “If the Evendale Police Department knew about the Neo-Nazi threat before the march, why didn’t they act? Armed Neo-Nazis were allowed to gather on school grounds just moments before innocent children were dismissed for the day. This is a direct attack on our community’s safety and our children’s future. We cannot—we will not—stand by and let hate take root here. I’m calling on the attorney general to immediately launch a full investigation into the police officer’s actions, and I won’t stop until those responsible are held accountable. Our children deserve to feel safe. Our communities deserve to feel protected. This can never happen again.”
