COLUMBUS— Ohio State Representative Casey Weinstein (D-Hudson) issued a statement today following reports of FBI agents executing a search warrant at the home of Public Utilities Commission of Ohio (PUCO) Chairman Sam Randazzo yesterday morning. PUCO regulates Ohio utilities and was currently auditing FirstEnergy Corp, the company at the center of the House Bill (HB 6) controversy that led to a nearly $1 billion bailout.

COLUMBUS – State Rep. Casey Weinstein (D-Hudson) today applauded the work of Hudson city leaders, Summit County, JobsOhio, and Team NEO in helping to grow Arlington Valley Farms. The company is expanding to launch several  innovative, “ready-to-eat” frozen and packaged food brands at its Hudson production facility. Arlington Valley Farms expects to invest $4.5 million in capital equipment and create 97 new jobs.

COLUMBUS – State Representatives Casey Weinstein (D-Hudson) today moved to favorably report the Republican-sponsored HB 6 repeal bill – identical to the Democratic bill to repeal – out of the Select Committee on Energy Policy and Oversight after just a single hearing. His motion was ruled out of order by Committee Chairman Jim Hoops (R-Napoleon) and upheld on a party line vote with Republicans voting against their own bill.

COLUMBUS – State Representative Casey Weinstein (D-Hudson) today announced his appointment to the Select Committee on Energy Policy and Oversight. The Committee will hear legislation designed to repeal House Bill (HB) 6, the $2 billion corporate bailout tied to an ongoing FBI investigation into an alleged $60 million scheme to get the bill passed. Bipartisan legislation offering a clean repeal of HB 6 had previously languished in the Committee on Rules and Reference without any movement from the Majority Caucus for over a month before being referred to the newly formed Select Committee after House Democrats launched an effort to discharge it from Rules and Reference.
