The Ohio Legislative Children’s Caucus today announced the selection of the following Co-Chairs and Co-Vice Chairs for the 134th General Assembly:

·         Co-Chair: State Representative Allison Russo (D-Upper Arlington)

·         Co-Chair: State Senator Stephanie Kunze (R-Hilliard)

·         Co-Vice Chair: State Representative Susan Manchester (R-Waynesfield)

·         Co-Vice Chair: State Senator Vernon Sykes (D-Akron)

“I am so honored and humbled to serve as the Co-Chair of the Ohio Legislative Children’s Caucus for another General Assembly,” said Rep. Russo.  “We are fortunate to have more than 40 members whose knowledge and diverse perspectives will only enhance the work of the Children’s Caucus.  I look forward to working with my colleagues in the Statehouse to give Ohio’s children a voice and ensure all of our youngest citizens are able to live, learn, and thrive right here at home.”

“I am grateful to serve as Co-Chair of the Children’s Caucus, and I am eager to work alongside my colleagues across the aisle and chamber to advocate for a state budget that supports our children,” said Sen. Kunze.  “It is crucial that the legislature continues to make investments through the lens of our future generations, creating pathways to success for every child in Ohio.”

Established in 2019, the Ohio Legislative Children’s Caucus is a bipartisan, bicameral caucus devoted to championing children’s issues in the state legislature through meaningful legislative, administrative, and budgetary action.  To work towards its goal of ensuring every child is healthy, cared for, fed, educated, and nurtured, the caucus will focus on these four priorities during the upcoming budget process:

·         Continuum of care for mothers and their children

·         Early childhood education and child care

·         K-12 school funding

·         Social, emotional, mental, and behavioral health and wellness for children and families
