COLUMBUS - House Minority Leader Allison Russo (D-Upper Arlington) today announced that the Controlling Board has approved the release of nearly $62K in state funds for The Ohio State University’s TechCred program.

“The tech industry has become an integral part of our world,” said Leader Russo. “As Ohio positions itself to become the tech hub of the Midwest, we must support a workforce that grows with, and adapts, to the growing demands of these technological innovations. By analyzing the employment outcomes of our tech programs, we can invest wisely and maintain our responsibility to the industry’s most important asset – its workers.”

The TechCred program helps employers build a stronger workforce by providing Ohioans with the skills needed in a technology-infused economy. These funds will support the Ohio Education Research Center’s (OERC) measurement of employment outcomes for current or prospective employees earning credentials through the technology-focused programs offered by TechCred.
