COLUMBUS — House Minority Leader Allison Russo (D-Upper Arlington) today made the following statement concerning the Franklin County Court’s preliminary injunction regarding Ohio’s 24-hour waiting law:

"The decision to grant a preliminary injunction for Ohio’s 24-hour waiting law is a victory for the people of Ohio and their fundamental rights. This injunction is honoring the clear voice of Ohioans who voted to protect reproductive freedoms in last year’s constitutional amendment. This ruling affirms that decisions about personal healthcare should be made by individuals and their doctors, not dictated by unconstitutional laws. Protecting access to comprehensive reproductive care is essential for the health, autonomy, and economic stability of Ohioans. This is a critical step toward ensuring that all Ohioans have the freedom and access they need to make informed choices about their own bodies and lives," said Leader Russo.

Wherever you come from and whatever your background, as Americans, House Democrats know people should have the fundamental freedom to make decisions about their bodies and health care.
