Reps. Sweeney, Callendar Reintroduce Legislation to Expand Medigap Coverage to Terminal Patients

COLUMBUS – State Reps. Bride Rose Sweeney (D-Westlake) and Jamie Callender (R-Concord) today announced the reintroduction of legislation to address a critical shortcoming in Ohio’s Medigap insurance market for patients suffering from Amyotrophic Lateral Sclerosis (ALS) or end stage renal disease (ESRD). Introduced in the 135th General Assembly as House Bill (HB) 400, the new HB 24 aims to expand access to Medigap plans to all patients, regardless of age, who have been diagnosed with either ALS or ESRD and are eligible for Medicare Part B coverage.

Reps. Sweeney, White's Bipartisan Bill on Child Support for Children with Disabilities Heads to Governor's Desk

COLUMBUS – State Reps. Bride Rose Sweeney (D-Westlake) today announces the unanimous concurrence vote on Senate amendments to House Bill 338 (HB), bipartisan legislation with Rep. Andrea White (R-Kettering) to allow child support orders to be issued or modified for a child with disabilities after that child has turned 18.

Reps. Sweeney, Isaacsohn Provide Sponsor Testimony to Expand Access to Affordable Childcare in Ohio

COLUMBUS – State Reps. Bride Rose Sweeney (D-Westlake) and Dani Isaacsohn (D-Cincinnati) today provided sponsor testimony on House Bill (HB) 570 to the House Finance Committee. Under HB 570, child care workers will automatically qualify for publicly funded childcare, ensuring more Ohio families have access to affordable childcare by incentivizing providers to join or stay in the child care workforce.
