Rep. Brown Piccolantonio Announces $297K in Economic Development Funding for Westerville

COLUMBUS – Rep. Beryl Brown Piccolantonio (D-Gahanna) today announced that the state Controlling Board approved $297,313 in support of MAD Scientist Associates, LLC to assist in financing the purchase and renovation of a 4,588 square foot office space at 4901 Central College Road, Westerville, Ohio 43081. This project will enable MAD Scientist Associates LLC to create 3 new full-time-equivalent jobs and retain 15 existing jobs.

“MAD Scientist Associates, LLC has been a source of pride for the Westerville community since 1998. This company is a full service ecological and wetland consulting firm. This investment from the Department of Development will facilitate additional capacity for their ecological and wetlands consulting work including wetland survey, full-scale wetland restoration and recreation. I am pleased to support this business growth and employment in House District 4,” said Rep. Brown Piccolantonio.

The funds will be provided from the Ohio Department of Development Regional 166 Direct Loan Program in FY26.  This program was funded through Facilities Establishment Fund dollars released prior to 1992 to Local Economic Development Agencies which hold program funds in escrow accounts.
