Willis to Serve on Newly Created Committee
COLUMBUS – Ohio House Speaker Jason Stephens (R-Kitts Hill) appointed State Representative Bernie Willis (R-Springfield) Tuesday to vice-chair the newly created House Aviation and Aerospace Committee.
“The aerospace industry is an emerging market that is likely to become more a part of our daily lives,” said Willis. “I am honored to be appointed to the Aviation and Aerospace Committee where I hope we can help craft sound legislation to put Ohio in a good position to be an industry leader in this sector.”
Willis is a graduate of United States Air Force Academy, after which he went on to earn the rank of colonel as a career military pilot flying F-16s and unmanned MQ-1 Predator drones.
“Rep. Willis has the background and unique skillset to help in this committee,” said Stephens. “I am confident in his ability to use his expertise to produce strong policies for Ohio.”
