Rep. Somani Responds to the State of the State

COLUMBUS –State Rep. Anita Somani (D-Dublin) today released the following statement in response to Governor DeWine’s State of the State address.
“Today, we heard a lot of talk about the progress we’ve made as a state in supporting and uplifting children even though we have made budget cuts in most of the programs that help reduce hunger and help public education. It felt like smoke and mirrors since Ohio ranks 48th in the nation in infant mortality and 37th in public education,” said Rep. Somani. “Republicans have had total control over our state for the last 15 years and in every metric of success we are failing. The strategy of cutting public school funding, slashing Medicaid programs, and giving tax breaks to billionaires is hurting everyday Ohioans. We all deserve leaders who care about improving our state for everyone, not just those at the top.”
