Rep. Somani Condemns Governor's Statement on Citizens Not Politicians Amendment

COLUMBUS - State Rep. Anita Somani (D-Dublin) today released the following statement concerning Governor Mike DeWine’s failure to support the Citizens Not Politicians citizen-led ballot initiative: 

“Years of aggressive and unconstitutional gerrymandering has allowed Republicans to hold a supermajority in our state legislature. One of the extremists’ greatest power grabs was attempted last year with Issue 1 in August as a way to stop the constitutional amendment for reproductive rights. They failed. And now, after multiple failed attempts at creating fair districts, they are trying again to keep gerrymandering in play. Ohioans now have the power to take back their own future,” said Rep. Somani.
