Rep. Somani Announces $30K for Updates at the Ohio School for the Deaf and Blind
COLUMBUS – State Rep. Anita Somani (D-Dublin) today announced that the Ohio Controlling Board approved on Monday $30,450 to replace flooring at the Ohio School for the Deaf Recreation Center. The Ohio School for the Deaf Recreation Center, also known as the "Spartan Center" is the main connection hub for the school. The Spartan Center is used as a recreation area for residential students in the evenings as a community area, and it is also used during school hours for small events and as an alternate teaching space.
“These investments will ensure that the Ohio School for the Deaf can keep using an important space that encourages community connection. It is crucial that the state continues its strong support of some of the oldest institutions serving our Deaf students,” said Rep. Somani.
