COLUMBUS—State Representatives Tom Young (R-Washington Twp.) and Andrea White (R-Kettering) today held a press conference on the Crossing Guard Protection Act, newly introduced legislation to increase protections for school crossing guards in Ohio as they work to protect students going to and from school. 

(COLUMBUS, Ohio) – State Representative Andrea White (R-Kettering), along with Attorney General Dave Yost and representatives of several partners from Ohio’s criminal justice system, today held a press conference to announce new legislation that works to modernize and align fingerprinting and disposition reporting to the Bureau of Criminal Investigation (BCI).

Columbus, OH – State Representative Andrea White (R-Kettering) today announced that the Ohio House of Representatives has passed House Bill 519, a critical measure aimed at strengthening Ohio’s criminal code to combat the skyrocketing number of vehicle thefts and thefts from vehicles through the use of highly-specialized electronic devices to digitally bypass a vehicle’s keyless entry security and push button ignition systems.

State Representative Andrea White (R-Kettering) today highlighted the application period for the Ohio Historic Preservation Credit Program opened yesterday, according to the Ohio Department of Development. This program supports property owners and developers in transforming Ohio’s historic buildings, preserving the community’s history, and turning the buildings into community assets.

State Representative Andrea White (R-Kettering) announced that four pieces of legislation she championed and the Legislature passed late last year have now become law, marking a milestone in Ohio’s commitment to the wellbeing of its students, families, and frontline workers. Each of the bills introduced by Representative White were passed as standalone legislation or amended into other bills that became law as of April 9th.  The bills address critical needs in education, mental health, maternal and infant health, workforce development, and healthcare safety. 

State Representatives Andrea White (R-Kettering) and Tom Young (R-Centerville) amended HB312 into SB208- a lame duck education Christmas tree bill in the final weeks of the 135th General Assembly and it was signed by Governor Mike DeWine earlier this afternoon.  

State Representative Andrea White’s (R-Kettering) legislation to address Ohio’s s staggering infant and maternal mortality rates and improve mothers’ and infants’ health, learning and development outcomes has been signed by Governor DeWine.

Legislation that will help high school and college students and their families have greater awareness of the state’s 9-8-8 crisis lifeline number – and access to immediate help in times of urgent need – was signed into law by Governor Mike DeWine Wednesday, January 8th.
