State Representatives Andrea White (R-Kettering) and Tom Young (R-Centerville) amended HB312 into SB208- a lame duck education Christmas tree bill in the final weeks of the 135th General Assembly and it was signed by Governor Mike DeWine earlier this afternoon.  

State Representative Andrea White’s (R-Kettering) legislation to address Ohio’s s staggering infant and maternal mortality rates and improve mothers’ and infants’ health, learning and development outcomes has been signed by Governor DeWine.

Senate Bill 234, which was amended to include House Bill 571, legislation introduced by State Representative Andrea White (R-Kettering), was signed into law today. This newly minted legislation will require high schools, colleges and universities and other higher education institutions to include the national suicide and crisis lifeline number, 9-8-8, on student identification cards, student planners (as applicable) and electronic portals, as well as create a requirement that higher education institutions will provide information about declarations for mental health treatment as part of the institution’s orientation, onboarding, or transfer materials.
