REPS. PLUMMER, WHITE, AND YOUNG CHAMPION $9.4 MILLION FOR DAYTON REGION IN OHIO CAPITAL BUDGET

June 2, 2026
Andrea White News

State Representatives Phil Plummer (R-Dayton), Andrea White (R-Kettering), and Tom Young (R-Washington Twp.) today highlighted approximately $9.4 million in Dayton-area projects they championed for inclusion in the State Capital Budget.

Working together throughout the capital budget process, the legislators advocated for projects identified by local governments, community organizations, educational institutions, and economic development leaders. The investments support public safety, economic development, education, community revitalization, and quality-of-life initiatives throughout the Dayton region.

The two-year capital improvements budget was introduced today, June 1st, in the Ohio House and will receive its first hearing before the House Finance Committee on June 2. Following committee consideration, the legislation will continue through the legislative process before receiving votes in both chambers of the General Assembly.

"Dayton continues to be one of Ohio's strongest regions, and these investments help ensure our communities have the resources they need to remain safe, competitive, and successful," said Representative Phil Plummer.

"These projects reflect priorities identified by local leaders and organizations throughout our region. By working together, we were able to champion meaningful investments that will strengthen neighborhoods, improve services, and create opportunities for families," said Representative Andrea White.

"The Capital Budget is one of the most important tools we have to invest in our communities. These dollars will support projects that improve quality of life today while laying the foundation for future economic growth across the Dayton region," said Representative Tom Young.

The projects and appropriations contained in the proposal remain subject to approval by the Ohio House, Ohio Senate, and Governor Mike DeWine before becoming law.
