COLUMBUS – State Representative Adam Holmes (R-Nashport) announced a statue of the legendary Ohio astronaut and Senator arrived at the Statehouse last Wednesday and was installed in the Map Room, where it will be displayed for the next year.
“John Glenn continues to inspire and unify Ohioans through the power of his legacy,” said Holmes upon the statue’s arrival. “This is an excellent way to pay tribute to a man who so clearly embodied the values of our state and our nation.”
The statue was sculpted by Zanesville artist Alan Cottrill and will be displayed in the Statehouse for one year to commemorate Glenn’s 100th birthday (July 18, 2021) and the 60th anniversary of his famous Mercury Atlas Flight (February 20, 2022).
