John Glenn was born in Cambridge, which Holmes currently represents, and both Glenn and Rep. Holmes served as pilots in the Marine Corps. “I tell people frequently that I would never assume to be like John Glenn,” Holmes said, “but I certainly understand where he came from. I certainly understand where his value system, his work ethic and his patriotism came from.” Representative Holmes believes countless Ohioans share his admiration for Glenn’s legacy.
