House Bill 197 Passes House Floor
COLUMBUS—The amended House Bill 197 was unanimously passed by the House of Representatives today, announced cosponsor State Representative Adam Holmes (R-Nashport).
The bill serves as the legislative response to the public health crisis caused by COVID-19.
“Today, I am proud of my colleagues for equipping and supporting Ohioans as we all face this global health crisis.” said Representative Holmes. “This bill is the comprehensive, multi-faceted approach we need.”
Among measures included in the response package are the extension of tax filing deadline to July 15, reduction of testing burdens on students and teachers, and the extension of the mail-in ballot period for the primary election until April 28.
Representative Holmes said he hopes Governor Mike DeWine will quickly sign the bill into law.
