Holmes Appointed to Semiquincentennial Commission

COLUMBUS – Ohio House Speaker Bob Cupp (R-Lima) yesterday appointed State Representative Adam Holmes (R-Nashport) as a member to the Ohio Commission for the United States semiquincentennial. 

The Ohio Commission for the United States semiquincentennial was established to plan, encourage, develop and coordinate the commemoration of the 250th anniversary of the founding of the United States and the impact of Ohioans on the nation’s past, present and future.

“I’m excited spread awareness and appreciation of our nation’s 250 years of accomplishments,” said Holmes. “I’m honored that Speaker Cupp appointed me to this position, and I look forward to working with my colleagues to celebrate not only our country, but our state.”

The commission will consist of 29 appointed members who will be serve for the duration of the commission, so long as the member continues to hold the office that entitled the member to the position. The commission is set to terminate on June 30, 2027.
