House Leaders Discuss Budget Sub. Bill

COLUMBUS—Today, Speaker of the Ohio House Clifford A. Rosenberger (R-Clarksville), Finance Committee Chairman Ryan Smith (R-Bidwell) and Speaker Pro Tempore Kirk Schuring (R-Canton) discussed details of House Bill 49, the state operating budget. Following the recent announcement by state leaders that spending will be restrained due to lower than expected revenue estimates, the bill promotes a fiscally sound plan by staying under the rate of inflation over the biennium and responsibly allocating funds towards areas that are most in need, such as battling the drug epidemic and funding schools.

Credit Aims to Create 200 New Jobs and Retain 463 Others

COLUMBUS—State Representative Nathan Manning (R-North Ridgeville) today announced that the Ohio Tax Credit Authority (TCA) has approved a Job Creation Tax Credit for an expansion project by Camaco Manufacturing in Lorain County. Through the tax credit, the company will expand its operations by over 200 jobs and will solidify $18.7 million in existing payroll (approximately 450 existing jobs) that the company currently employs.

COLUMBUS—Speaker of the Ohio House Clifford A. Rosenberger (R-Clarksville) recently appointed State Representative Tom Patton (R-Strongsville) to the Ohio Turnpike and Infrastructure Commission (OTIC). Rep. Patton will serve as one of the non-voting members on the ten-member board.

House Republican Leaders Announce Future of BCMH Funding in State Budget

During a press conference this afternoon at the Statehouse, Ohio House Speaker Cliff Rosenberger (R-Clarksville) and several House Republican leaders joined former NFL quarterback Boomer Esiason and Reverend David Hoffman to discuss budget provisions regarding funding for the Bureau of Children with Medical Handicaps (BCMH).
