Speaker of the Ohio House Clifford A. Rosenberger (R-Clarksville) and State Representative Kirk Schuring (R-Canton) today announced plans for the Medical Marijuana Task Force, which will work to review the issue of medical marijuana in the state of Ohio.
State Representative Robert Sprague (R-Findlay) today announced his support for the recent CDC report, “Guideline for Prescribing Opioids for Chronic Pain.” Sprague, joined by Ohio Attorney General Mike DeWine and State Representative Ryan Smith (R-Bidwell), says that he plans to submit a letter of support for the guidelines to the CDC during its public comment period.
COLUMBUS—State Representative Rick Perales (R-Beavercreek) introduced legislation yesterday to exempt military deployment orders from public records requests on public employees. House Bill 423 is aimed to provide military families with the security, privacy and peace of mind they deserve while their family member serves away from home. The bill includes all armed forces including both Ohio National Guard and reservists.
According to the CDC, we are in the height of flu season, meaning many of us will find ourselves running to the local pharmacy to pick up some cold medicine. The most common over-the-counter cough medicines, however, contain an ingredient called dextromethorphan. While low doses of this ingredient are key to helping us fight our cold, some youth have taken up the practice of drinking an entire bottle, which can prove fatal.
Although we have experienced unseasonably warm weather thus far this season, Ohioans know the snow and ice is inevitably around the corner. DAYTON, Ohio – In honor of National Wright Brothers Day and the 112th anniversary of the Wright brothers taking flight, State Representative Rick Perales last week presented House Concurrent Resolution 8 during the National Aviation Heritage Alliance annual Wright Brothers Day commemoration. House Concurrent Resolution 8 repudiates Connecticut for its claim that the Wright Brothers were not the first to fly a powered, heavier-than-air machine. Perales presented the resolution to Amanda Wright Lane and Stephen Wright, the great-grandniece and great-grandnephew of the Wright Brothers.
COLUMBUS—In response to findings issued Friday by Ohio Attorney General Mike DeWine regarding his investigation into Planned Parenthood, four House Republican lawmakers held a press conference to announce legislation that addresses some of the findings in the report.
During yesterday’s voting session, the Ohio House of Representatives concurred on budget-related amendments adopted by the Senate to Substitute House Bill 340.
