COLUMBUS – State Rep. Daniel Troy (D-Willowick) today announced $4,413,661 in grant funding for brownfield remediation and demolition in his district. As the ranking member of the Ohio House Finance Subcommittee on Agriculture, Development, and Natural Resources, Rep. Troy strongly advocated for the addition of $500 million in brownfield remediation and demolition funds to the current state operating budget, which had no appropriation for this purpose when it was introduced.

COLUMBUS – State Reps. Beryl Brown Piccolantonio (D-Gahanna) and Terrence Upchurch (D-Cleveland) today unveiled legislation that would reform the composition of the Ohio Ballot Board. Details of the drafted bill were laid out Friday morning at a news conference at the Statehouse.

COLUMBUS - State Rep. Darnell Brewer (D-Cleveland) Thursday received the Ohio Association of Area Agencies on Aging (o4a) Advocacy Award and was appointed to the Ohio Department of Health’s newly formed Community Health Worker (CHW) Center for Excellence Board.

COLUMBUS — House Minority Leader Allison Russo (D-Upper Arlington) today released the following statement after a Hamilton County Common Pleas Court judge ruled Thursday that Ohio's six-week abortion ban violated women’s reproductive rights codified in the state’s constitution following the 2023 November election:

Jarrells (D-Columbus), along with environmental advocates and community partners, continued his four-day, statewide press tour Wednesday in Cleveland highlighting the need to pass House Bill (HB) 534 - Ohio’s Lead Line Replacement Act. Ohio currently ranks second in the nation for the most lead pipes serving families. As a child growing up in Cleveland, Rep. Jarrells was a victim of lead poisoning in his drinking water that led to medical issues.

COLUMBUS — State Reps. Jodi Whitted (D-Madeira) and Rachel Baker (D- Cincinnati) today announced a new bill that establishes a grant program for social work students. House Bill (HB) 675 would grant $20K to individual students who are completing their internships. While these internships are required for students to complete while pursuing their degrees, most of these internships are not paid or underpaid. HB 675 aims to give hard working students some financial relief. 

COLUMBUS – State Rep. Juanita O. Brent (D-Cleveland) attended the 2024 White House Black Excellence Brunch, a gathering of Black elected officials, social media influencers, and thought leaders invited by President Biden on the White House South Lawn on September 13th, 2024. 

COLUMBUS - State Rep. Dani Isaacsohn (D-Cincinnati), in partnership with the Ohio High School Athletic Association (OHSAA), today announced that Cincinnati Public Schools (CPS) will be awarded a free Automated External Defibrillator (AED) through the Ohio General Assembly and OHSAA’s common effort to require AEDs in schools.

COLUMBUS — Rep. Munira Abdullahi (D-Columbus) has called on Secretary of State Frank LaRose to provide clarity on the recent cancellations of voter registrations for individuals deemed non-citizens by his office. This request follows the approval of 16,010 naturalization applications in Ohio during the 2023 fiscal year, highlighting a significant influx of new American voters.
