COLUMBUS – State Rep. Daniel Troy (D-Willowick) today announced $4,413,661 in grant funding for brownfield remediation and demolition in his district. As the ranking member of the Ohio House Finance Subcommittee on Agriculture, Development, and Natural Resources, Rep. Troy strongly advocated for the addition of $500 million in brownfield remediation and demolition funds to the current state operating budget, which had no appropriation for this purpose when it was introduced.

Jarrells (D-Columbus), along with environmental advocates and community partners, continued his four-day, statewide press tour Wednesday in Cleveland highlighting the need to pass House Bill (HB) 534 - Ohio’s Lead Line Replacement Act. Ohio currently ranks second in the nation for the most lead pipes serving families. As a child growing up in Cleveland, Rep. Jarrells was a victim of lead poisoning in his drinking water that led to medical issues.

COLUMBUS — State Reps. Jodi Whitted (D-Madeira) and Rachel Baker (D- Cincinnati) today announced a new bill that establishes a grant program for social work students. House Bill (HB) 675 would grant $20K to individual students who are completing their internships. While these internships are required for students to complete while pursuing their degrees, most of these internships are not paid or underpaid. HB 675 aims to give hard working students some financial relief.
