Leader Isaacsohn: Ohio Has Spoken. Now It's Time to Deliver an Ohio We Can All Afford.

COLUMBUS — Ohio House Minority Leader Dani Isaacsohn (D-Cincinnati) today celebrated 2026 midterm election results where Democrats broke the Republican supermajority in the Ohio House and elected Dr. Amy Acton as Governor, calling the victories a demand for action on the cost of living.
“Ohio has spoken, and the message is clear: working families deserve a government that makes their lives more affordable,” said Leader Isaacsohn. “This blue wave was powered by people who are tired of working harder and falling further behind. They showed up, made their voices heard, and broke the Republican supermajority. Now it’s time to deliver results.”
Leader Isaacsohn and Ohio House Democrats will enter the next General Assembly focused on lowering costs, providing meaningful property tax relief, making housing and childcare more affordable, and protecting access to healthcare and strong public schools.
“An election victory doesn’t pay the grocery bill. It doesn’t lower the rent or keep the lights on. Our job is to turn the trust Ohioans placed in us into relief they can feel at their kitchen tables,” Leader Isaacsohn continued. “We are ready to work with Governor-elect Acton and the Republican majority, reaching across the aisle to deliver bipartisan results that put Ohio families first. The responsibility to deliver belongs to every person elected to serve.”
Leader Isaacsohn also thanked candidates, volunteers, organizers, and voters across Ohio who helped make the historic gains possible.
“To everyone who knocked on a door, made a call, or voted because you believed Ohio could do better: thank you. You made this moment possible, and we owe you the work that comes next,” concluded Leader Isaacsohn. “It’s time to deliver an Ohio we can all afford.”
