COLUMBUS – State Rep. Tom Young (R-Washington Twp.) today announced the Ohio House has approved six bills addressing a variety of issues, including measures to provide testing relief to Ohio’s schools, improve health outcomes, and support Ohio’s business climate. 

COLUMBUS — State Rep. Terrence Upchurch (D-Cleveland) and State Senator Paula Hicks-Hudson (D-Toledo) Wednesday submitted a filing with the Ohio Supreme Court detailing the alleged legal malpractice of Attorney General Dave Yost and overtly partisan behavior of the Ballot Board chair Secretary of State Frank LaRose concerning each party’s conduct with the Citizens Not Politicians legal matter.

COLUMBUS — Cuyahoga County State Reps. Bride Rose Sweeney (D-Westlake), Phillip M. Robinson (D-Solon), Sean Patrick Brennan (Parma) and Cuyahoga County Executive Chris Ronayne hosted a press conference Tuesday in Cuyahoga County addressing state-mandated property valuation changes and solutions to growing concerns over rising property taxes for Ohio homeowners. 

COLUMBUS — House Minority Leader Allison Russo (D-Upper Arlington) and Senate Democratic Leader Nickie J. Antonio (D-Lakewood) today sent a letter to Ohio Attorney General Dave Yost detailing his blatant disregard for the legal rights of the minority members of the Ohio Ballot Board— Rep. Terrence Upchurch (D-Cleveland) and Senator Paula Hicks-Hudson (D-Toledo) —who broke with the majority of Ballot Board members and voted against Secretary of State Frank LaRose’s deceptive and misleading ballot summary language for the Citizens Not Politicians constitutional amendment, Issue 1.

State Representatives Jennifer Gross (R-West Chester) and Michelle Teska (R-Clearcreek Township) today introduced House Bill 983, the Data Center Accountability and Citizen Protection Act, legislation that gives Ohio citizens the final say before massive data center projects are built in their communities while protecting taxpayers, ratepayers, private property owners, and Ohio's natural resources.

COLUMBUS — In a letter sent today to Public Utilities Commission of Ohio (PUCO) Chair Jenifer French, State Rep. Casey Weinstein (D-Hudson) and other House Democrats called on the PUCO to take immediate action to address the reliability of Ohio's power grid in light of recent severe weather events that have caused widespread outages. 

COLUMBUS – House Minority Leader Allison Russo (D-Upper Arlington), State Rep. Michele Grim (D-Toledo) and State Rep. Elgin Rogers (D-Toledo) and chair of Ohio Democratic Women’s Legislative Caucus State Rep. Munira Abdullahi (D-Columbus) today honored the life and legacy of Marigene Valiquette, a Toledo Democrat who served in both the Ohio House of Representatives and Ohio Senate for 24 straight years, setting a record for the longest serving female legislator in state history. 

 

COLUMBUS – State Rep. Michael J. Skindell (D-Lakewood) today joined the Cuyahoga County House and Senate Delegation, as well as Rep. Daniel P. Troy (D-Willowick) in Lake County and Rep. Joe Miller (D-Amherst) in Lorain County to urgently request Governor DeWine to issue a proclamation declaring a state of emergency across Cuyahoga, Lake, and Lorain Counties which were impacted by a severe weather system on Tuesday, August 6th, 2024.
