Hall Announces Community Infrastructure Project Funding During Local Press Conference
COLUMBUS—The Ohio Rail Development Commission recently awarded a Butler County community grant funding to be used towards a transportation infrastructure project, announced State Rep. Thomas Hall (R-Madison Twp.).
More specifically, the county will be awarded $2,761,672.50 from the Commission to help fund the Cedar Grove Connector project, a 90% match to the community’s 10% funding commitment. The project consists of building an access road and closing an at-grade crossing located in the Cedar Grove subdivision in St. Clair Township.
“This project funding will make the Cedar Grove community an even better place to live,” said Hall. “It will directly improve safety by ensuring our first responders have clear access to the subdivision and further improve traffic flow for residents.”
“We are extremely grateful to the Ohio Rail Development Commission (ORDC) for their generous grant to help fund the Cedar Grove Connector project,” said Greg Wilkens, Butler County Engineer. “This project will ensure the safety and convenience of the Cedar Grove subdivision residents and provide crucial access for first responders in the event of a stopped train. Without the ORDC, this much-needed project would not have been possible.”
“This is an example of the power of citizens and local government working together to make a difference,” said Cindy Carpenter, Butler County Commissioner.
This funding was provided in the most recent state budget for grade crossing eliminations.
