Ray Elected to Serve as Assistant Majority Whip to the House

COLUMBUS – State Representative Sharon Ray (R-Wadsworth) was elected to serve as the assistant floor whip for the 135th General Assembly Tuesday.

Ray will assist the majority caucus in bringing legislation to the House floor, maintaining communication between leadership and majority members, and counting votes on key legislation.

“It is a true honor to be elected to this position,” said Ray. “I thank Speaker Stephens for entrusting me to help lead and unite the majority caucus.”

Ray has a strong background in local government and public service, serving as a Medina County commissioner, Wadsworth City council member and a certified bailiff at the Wadsworth Municipal Court.   

“With a plethora of experience in local government and public service, Representative Ray is the first female to represent the 66th House District,” said House Speaker Jason Stephens (R-Kitts Hill). “She has spent her career delivering for the people of Medina County and I am confident she will continue to do so from the Statehouse.”
