Statement from State Representative Oelslager

State Rep. Scott Oelslager (R–North Canton) has issued the following statement:

“Today, I voted to remove Larry Householder as Speaker of the Ohio House of Representatives. He has shown that he can’t effectively lead and work with other branches of government to serve the state of Ohio. 

“The sad part is the House has been acting in a strong bipartisan fashion throughout the 133^rd General Assembly, and that should not be overshadowed. For example, the state operating budget passed out of the House Finance Committee, which I chair, 32-0. The final budget passed out of the House 75-17 and out of the Senate 29-1. 

“I hope whoever our new speaker is, we can continue to serve the people of Ohio in a cordial and collegial manner.”
