Today, State Rep. Scott Oelslager (R-North Canton) and the state Controlling Board met and approved a measure for public roadwork improvements in support of the Tractor Supply Company in Navarre. The request from the Development Services Agency is being awarded $1.7 million through the Roadwork Development Grant for the project.

“I’m very pleased to announce the approval of this business expansion initiative that with state assistance will provide hundreds of jobs right here in Stark County with the roadwork development for the Tractor Supply Company,” said Oelslager.

With today’s approval, the project will provide for 375 new, full-time jobs.

Roadwork Development Grants are awarded for public roadwork improvements that support the expansion or attraction of businesses. The project will include widening, paving, road construction and reconstruction, and right-of-way infrastructure improvements such as sewer or utility lines.

In total, the Controlling Board approved $1,705,115 for the project. The next meeting is scheduled for December 14.
