Oelslager Provides Legislative Update from Ohio House
COLUMBUS—State Rep. Scott Oelslager (R-North Canton) is pleased to announce the passage of multiple pieces of legislation last month.
Each bill is highlighted below:
Authorize bonds for public infrastructure capital improvement (87-4): Sponsored by Oelslager, House Joint Resolution 8 will provide Ohio voters the opportunity to renew the Public Works Commission State Capital Improvement Program.
Provide additional support for soil and water districts (87-4): Co-sponsored by Oelslager, House Bill 683 will provide $10 million to the Department of Agriculture to be used towards drought mitigation efforts.
Increase certain contributions to Police and Fire Pension Fund (66-25): Co-sponsored by Oelslager, House Bill 296 will modernize the Ohio Police and Fire Pension Fund by increasing employer contributions for police, bringing the contribution into alignment with fire.
Regards prescription drug readers for visually impaired patients (82-7): House Bill 382 will require prescription drug readers to be made available to patients with a vision impairment in order to convey important information for dangerous drugs.
Include Space Force in armed forces, armed and uniformed service (84-0): Co-sponsored by Oelslager, Senate Bill 154 will update definitions of the U.S. Armed Forces, Armed Services, and Uniformed Services in the Revised Code to include the U.S. Space Force.
