Oelslager Provides Legislative Update from Ohio House

COLUMBUS—Speaker Pro Tempore Scott Oelslager (R-North Canton) is pleased to announce the recent passage of three important Ohio House bills.
Each bill is highlighted below:
- Regards state information technology systems and shared services (80-0): House Bill 74 will allow the legislature to become a more active participant in making sure Ohio’s technology infrastructure is best set up to serve all Ohioans, while simultaneously increasing accountability and saving taxpayer dollars.
- Makes specified day and week designations relating to agriculture (83-0): Co-sponsored by Oelslager, House Bill 162 recognizes several federal agriculture days and codifies them in state law. This includes: FFA Week, 4-H week, Agriculture Day, and Farmer’s Day.
- Recognizes National Nursing Assistants Week (83-0): Co-sponsored by Oelslager, House Bill 188 will recognize the hard work of Ohio’s nursing assistants by designating the second week in June as “Ohio Nursing Assistants Week.”
These pieces of legislation await consideration by the Ohio Senate.
